Microtech DOC (Death on Contact) Knife Review

Description

The Microtech D.O.C. Manual production folder or Death On Contact is a collaboration piece between the minds of renowned custom makers and tactical knife engineers, Anthony Marfione and Mick Strider. This folder features a stout nightmare ground and black coated S30V stainless steel blade that can be deployed by a quick pull downward on the integral flipper. The smooth action forces the blade into the open position and is locked there by the titanium lockbar that has a removable hardened steel lock insert. The blade is housed in an aluminum handle with grip inserts, titanium backspacer and stainless steel hardware. A stainless steel pocket clip has been attached for tip-up pocket carry and also marked Anthony Marfione and Mick Strider. Named Best Collaboration of the year at BLADE Show 2013!

Review

The Microtech D.O.C. (Death-On-Contact) Manual Folding Knife series is a special project undertaken by Microtech.  The D.O.C. project is the result of the collaboration between custom knife makers Anthony Marfione and Mick Strider.  Both are very well known in the custom knife community and each are famous for their skills and capabilities at knife design, construction and production.  The D.O.C. series is offered in numerous configurations and materials depending on the preferences and tastes of the buyer.  This edition features a compound blade grind similar to Mick Strider’s signature “Nightmare Grind” offered on his custom made knives.  At a price of roughly $350 (+/- depending on the configuration and edition), the D.O.C. is a very popular and well-built folding knife that is great for hard use and everyday carry.
